: Highland Hall is up for lease right now. Albarano and Sons did some work on it recently. When the new addition was built to the Blair Country Courthouse, the offices that were in Highland Hall were moved to the new building. It had been an annex to the courthouse for several years. And my grandmother worked there in the 1970's for RSVP...I think it was like a home nursing group, not sure on that. I have lived in Hollidaysburg for 27 years and have never been in that building. I wish they could use it as a History museum or something that the public could utilize. I love hearing stories about the history of Hollidaysburg, so by all means send us what you got, or you can e-mail me directly. If you have not gotten a responce to the request for pictures, I would be glad to oblige. Only thing is I would have to mail them to you as I do not have a scanner. I had my wedding pics taken there, in mid May of 1995 and there are beautiful birch trees that surround the building. It made a really nice backdrop. Feel free to e-mail me, use Highland Hall as the subject line so I know not to delete your message.
I was also a student at Highland Hall in the 1950s and am just now trying to catch up on details. So your note was somewhat bittersweet. Has anything new developed since you responded and you can reach me directly at rvalente@worldnet.att.net. I haven't seen the Hall since 1958. But I also remember that the Franciscans had a noviate/farm out in the rural area. Wonder if it still survives? Thanks
